Update with pictures....

We are currently back in Benton for a few days. We spent much of the day recooperating from the last week of constant work for me. Emma enjoyed being with Tal and I and her old toys again. Then we got a visit from Meme and Granddaddy and then Aunt Jamie took us all out to eat. So she had a blast showing off for everyone. She was in rare form, which has become more of her usual form these days. When Meme walked in, she ran to the door with arms up yelling, "Meme, Meme" I think it made Meme's day. Right at this moment, she is sitting on top of our step stook calling out for us to help her down. She has enjoyed climbing on that thing since she was 11 months old. Tal and I were stripping wall-paper and turned around to see her dancing to music on the top of the ladder. And she has been climbing ever since.

We were so excited to come home and find that the house just four doors down had sold. It has been on the market for awhile, but they were selling by owner. They got a agent to list it about six weeks ago, and now it is sold. We were excited to see it was sold so quickly after being listed and to know we are the only ones on the block that will be for sale. So keep praying that we will be able to get it on the market quickly and it will sell even quicker for the right price for everyone involved.

This is Emma in her new Tennessee cheerleading outfit that Uncle Matt found for her. Isn't she adorable???
Grandmommy found her some new clothes at Target for the fall and winter. She was trying them on and then took a break to read. Thought it made a cute picture.
Her she is tonight at dinner with some lemons she was eating. I wish I had caught her in the act. She was eating them and making the sour lemon face, but she was laughing at the same time. It was hillarious. But I just got her studying the lemons instead. She was squeezing them like Grandmommy taught her to do yesterday while they were making Two Dad's birthday pie. I think it might have had more than just lime juice in it when she was done, but I sure whatever she contributed to it, just made it sweeter.

And to leave you with this adorable cutie. She is saying Go Vols in this one. And she makes it look so cute!

Finally the pictures have arrived....

Well, it has been a very busy weekend, so I am just now getting pictures up on the site. I will briefly explain each, and you can ask questions if I don't get it all explained.

Here is Jamie, Tal's Sister, and Tal and Emma.Emma wearing Daddy's shoes. She had one of mine and one of his on, but by the time we ran for the camera, we could only convince her to wear just daddy's.
Here is her usual nap position. She has adopted this one blanket as her favorite. Thank the Lord, since it is the one we had Fed Ex'ed from Illinois when we left it on our way back from MN.
Here is Emma with Hot Fudge cake all over her mouth. It was "YUM"
Emma looked down in this picture, but it still turned out cute. This is her new found Uncle Mike. She decided she liked him afterall. She followed him around all day when he was home playing with him. Even knocking on his door quite often. She was not happy with him when he had to go house sit though.

And that is it! I will try to get more on this web this week sometime. She is always up for the camera!

After three days of working....

So today was my last day of three to work. I had not worked three in a row in a very long time, I think May was the last time I had even attempted this, and that was not three twelves, but three tens. (Not that much different in all).

Today, Tal and I had one of those events that made our heart skip a few beats. Tal is so kind to let me sleep in a bed by myself when I have to double back after working. I usually only have 7-8 hours that I can sleep, so it is nice with Emma in the room with us to have a bed to myself. They sleep on a nice memory foam mat on the floor and let me have a lot of nice sleep. So this morning Tal wakes me up at 8am, which was the time I needed to up, but he was frantic. He wanted to know if Emma had gotten up with me sometime during the night. I told him no, but did he look under the bed, in case she crawled under there. (which would not have a been a first) But no, he had checked. The door was mostly closed, so then we got nervous and both basically flew down the stairs. And there she was sitting on the counter as happy as she could be. She had apparently gone downstairs and found Grandma, who was fortunately awake for the pitter patter of little feet. And she was "helping" Grandma fix Two Dad's lunch and then decided that the chicken looked pretty good (Now the girl won't touch chicken for me, go figure!) So the girl who is normally a grouch for us at their house, was acting like nothing was more normal than to do exactly what she was doing. So our heart rates started to come back to normal and we had a good laugh over the whole thing. And then Grandma left to go do something and we got our normal Emma back.

At that time, (all of this happened between 8am and 8:45am, got the adrenaline rushes early today....) we noticed that Princess had blood slowly seeping out of her shoulder. Such a nice thing in the morning. So I had to convince Emma that Princess had a boo boo and she needed me to fix it. So daddy had to sufice for Emma at that time. I cleaned Princess and attempted a bandage, which left me about 12 minutes to get ready for work. I had to get there early to get my medical insurance coverage settled before we lose ours with Tal. After I got out of the shower, we decided it would be a good idea to go get better tape to cover the wound on Princess, so Tal was going to take Emma and follow me to Walgreens for us to pick out the stuff we needed. But Emma had other ideas....

My mom was sitting doing the crossword puzzle, her morning ritual and boy is she good at it. Emma ran over to her and jumped in her lap and said, "Bye" with hand outstretched in the typical "Talk to the hand" approach of my teen years. She basically with that word and look told us to just leave, she had the person that loved her. So Tal and I hung our heads, assumed our new position in Emma's life and headed to Walgreens. I was just praying that my day would be less eventful than the first hour.

Thankfully it was. It has been very busy at work and at times it was more than I thought I could accomplish, but nothing a Reese's peanut butter cup did not help! I am glad I like my job here. It makes the days a lot easier.

On a side note, Emma got to wear her Arkansas cheerleader outfit today, but she quickly told Tal what she thought about that. She ran to the dirty clothes and picked out the Dora pj top she had worn, yogurt stains and all and put it on over her AR outfit! So I guess I'll have to get the cute Dora jeans and sweatshirt before the AR/TN game, and that will be her outfit!

I promise to post pictures tomorrow. I am only going to visit Big Daddy, babysit Reese and Sam for a few hours, and watch football, so maybe I will have time. Also, I will probably try to get a little of our things settled in a little before we try to move a little of the stuff next week.

Hope everything is going well.

I am amazed....

I am amazed at how little time I have these days. Working is a lot of work you know! We were reminiscing tonight in the Med Room about last year. Every Thursday night we would watch ER together and sometimes even eat popcorn. Now we are running from the time we get here until the time we leave. I don't mind it at all because I would rather be busy. But it is totally different from last year.

Emma did really well last night, actually for the first time in weeks sleep pretty much all night at my mom's house. And I was so thankful. Things have been so rough for her because she just hate to sleep there for some reason. She likes to play with everyone so much that she thinks she doesn't need to sleep. But last night, she slept with Tal on a mat on the floor all night. Tal is really sweet to give me a good night sleep, especially when I work three in a row.

Emma was such a big eater today, she had decided she loves tomatoes. She also ate half a steak, and half an avocado, and then found out that she loves lettuce as well. So she ate a ton of lettuce. (I should have reminded Tal to check her diaper before she went to bed, I bet she will use that up entirely!)

Don't really have much more news. We are going to babysit Emma's friend, Reese for a few hours on Saturday. And then Sunday we are going to the zoo with a gal from my work and her husband and three year old, Isabella. I am excited about that because I haven't made many new friends recently and it is nice to make one. She just moved her to Baton Rouge recently and they need some friends.

My parents were supposed to go the the TN game this weekend. I was a little sad, because I don't really get to see them much when we are here. But because of the rain and a few other little hitches they decided to stay in town. I am excited. I cannot wait to see them for more than fifteen minutes at a time. I don't remember the last time that I have spent time with them other than going to work and getting ready to go back to Benton. I think it was July.

We found out our friends are having a little boy in February, so congratulations to Julie and Jason. Pray for her pregnancy. Elliot will have another little friend. Also, in prayer requests, please keep praying for Big Daddy. He has had such a hard time with this recovery. Keep him in your prayers for strength and joy for him. And just a general one for the kids I work with and their families. I cannot imagine how hard this must be for them. I cannot give details or names or anything like that but pray for those facing hard decisions. They need some special touches from God this weekend.

Okay, will try to post some pictures sooner than later. I think we have a few that I should try to post tomorrow. We have some good ones from the other night. And an adorable one of her asleep the other day.

I love.....

Going to my friends websites and having updates on their lives. So I figured I better update you on ours.

Today was our first official day without working at Spring Creek. It was so nice because we really haven't had a real day off in a awhile, because I usually have to work on Tal's days off. And usually if we were in town, there was something church related to be done. So today was a celebration of doing dishes, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, packing boxes with the knowledge that there was nothing really pressing that had to be accomplished. So if Emma Grace wanted to play, we could play.

Yesterday, the church gave us a very lovely going away reception. Emma was thrown a little party during Sunday School, complete with presents and cupcakes. She loves Ms. Betsy, and will definitely miss her. There are a few pictures from that day.

Emma and I were reading her Dora potty book tonight, when she decided to go potty, but not in her little potty, she wanted the big potty! And she did a marvelous job. She was so proud of herself going in the big potty. Of course, Tal had to hold her so she did not fall in. And as I am writing this, she just ran in and told me that "I poop-poop in potty, MOMMA!" Tal said they were just going to try going once more and she let it rip. So go Emma! She said none of this baby potty stuff, big girl for her!

We had nice rain storms today. It was so cool that we shut off the air and opened the windows. It got a little warm with the sun, but was worth the big bucks we are saving. Hopefully, we can have it off the next few days.

I put a few pictures up. They are of Emma and her friends, Tate (curly red hair) and Ethan, (blond hair). And then of course, of just Emma. Tomorrow, we are going to clean some more and then go celebrate Aunt Jamie's birthday. Hope to hear from all of your soon.

Don't seem to find the time lately....

Well, I am on my last day of full time for this week. It really hasn't been that hard on me to be back full time, but I think Emma Grace is a little sad that I am not there. She has gotten to come down and see me the past few days, which is awesome. She seemed to understand that she was just there to visit and then she and daddy would have to go play again for awhile. She was so cute saying goodbye to everyone. Today she ate lunch with me. She had a huge piece of celery, several carrots, and about 15 cherry tomatoes. Must take after my mom with her love for veggies. Tal took her to the zoo today. When they drove up, she said "I see it, I see it...ROAR" She knew exactly where she was. Hopefully, I will get to go with them next weekend when we are in town for a few days. I never get to go to the zoo because I am always working when we are here. The zoo pass has been a great thing for us because Tal can go whenever he feels like it.

Emma did not go to sleep until almost four this morning because she wanted to play so bad. Unfortunately, my parents have had to be out of town this time, so she was severely disappointed that her buddies where not there to "pay" as she said. Tal said she has fallen asleep now, it is 9:45pm. Hopefully they will both get some rest before I get home. I told him I would take over but I myself and very tired. I am praying we all get some sleep tonight.

I went to see Big Daddy on my way to work today. He seemed to be in good spirits. He was taking his pills and then therapy was there to get him up. I did not get to stay long because I had to get to work and he had to get to work. But tomorrow I am going to take Emma Grace by to see him and cheer him up a little.

We are gearing up for a big football day tomorrow. Arkansas and Vandy and Tennessee and Florida. Of course we are cheering for Arkansas and Tennessee. We will watch the Arkansas game here in Tennessee and the Tennessee game back in Arkansas, sounds logical huh? Go Vols and Go HOGS!

So this week we are thinking about trying to start moving stuff to Memphis next week, but we haven't totally decided. Monday will be Tal's first official day out of work. We can start really working on our house and getting it ready for the market. He is so much less stressed right now and that is great. We will have a few days here in there between my days to work. Hopefully, prayerfully, we can get the house on the market in the next three weeks for sure.

Well, I might write more tomorrow. But if not we will try to update you all again this weekend.

Oh yeah, Emma's favorite phrases lately are "I see" "okay" and she loves to jabber on the phone with daddy now. She actually has real conversations it is great!

More pics

Here are a few more pictures from today. Emma and Daddy had fun with flowers from the yard. They decorated each other's hair. There is a better picture of her shoes in this one. And she was playing dress up. Unfortunately, she started crying just as we took the picture, but I promise we did not put those on her and make her cry. She did that herself.

Everyone remember to say Happy Grandparents Day to your grandparents tomorrow. I read today that the holiday was started in 1978! Great year! the card people must have seen my picture and decided I was so cute, my grandparents needed to be celebrated! So hug your favorite granny tomorrow and call the ones too far away.

More to come....

Finally an update....

I apologize to all my readers for a lack of reading material. The past few weeks have been wild at our house.

Today was the first day in awhile that Tal and I had been off together and did not really have much to do or anywhere to be. We had a good time as a family. Emma, Tal and I went on a family date to IHOP. Emma feasted on eggs, pancakes, and bacon. She was a pig!!!

This week Tal made his resignation official. For those who have not heard or guessed, we are moving back to Memphis for Tal to finish his masters and at this point we are praying about him getting his doctrate in History. We are also learning all we can about Family Integrated Churches. This has been a great time of growth for us and stretching. One of the hardest things we have done as a couple, but also a great time of learning. God is good.

I start back full time at St. Jude on Monday. It was hard for me to go back full time, but knowing it was only three days a week and that we were working towards our goal of me being a stay at home mom for good in the next few years, I gladly went back. Fortunately, I love my job, my co-workers, the envrionment there, everything. So at least work is not stressful and God has blessed me beyond words with that job. It was hard this week because seeing that Big Daddy needed more attention this week, and Tal was trying to wrap things up at work here, I drove back and forth to Memphis twice to work. My body does complain after the second day though. I had my doctor prescribe me something to help me sleep and that has been very benefical for my days off.

Emma Grace had a blast this week with her great Grandparents. She stayed Tuesday with MawMaw and PawPaw. She was a perfect angel per tale. She even put herself down for a nap. (Why doesn't she do this for me.....?) And had a blast with them. They are very special people and are just such a blessing to us. Thanks again PawPaw for fixing my glasses. Haven't given me a minutes trouble since you fixed them. Also thanks for keeping Emma, want her back another day?

Yesterday, Thursday, Emma went to Granddaddy's and Meme's. She immediately set off chasing the cat, Leo. She and granddaddy found him under the bed and Emma proceeded to get under the bed. Poor Leo. She ate like a champ off their home cooking. I think she won't turn down a meal at their house again. She must have had her share of tea too, because Tal said she was a bundle of energy until she fell asleep. By the time I got home at 1am, she was out for several hours. She sat up in bed and then fell back asleep after seeing I was home.

Today, she has been so cute. She is wearing blue jeans and a UT football jersey. We also let her wear her flip flops. They are real flip flops except for a strap to keep them on. Her foot was too small when she got them, but they fit perfect now. They are so cute. The picture of them at the bottom is a little fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Update on Big Daddy, he went back to the hospital yesterday having trouble swallowing. Mom called today and said the doc thinks he might have some kind of funal infection in his esophagus. Fortunately, the great staff at the Villages where he lives were quick to catch this, so hopefully, he will get over it soon. Please pray for his strength and just for a sense of peace for him. This must be so hard to go through. And for mom and her brother and sister as they are taking care of him.

Another little annoucement, my maid of honor, Amber had her baby yesterday. Elijah John is so adorable. It is so funny to me too. Elijah and Elliot will be the same age and about the same distance in age apart that Amber and I were. So much fun! They are doing great. Pray for just a smooth transition for the whole family.

Emma found out she loves Quarter pounders this week. She stole mine and ate most of it! She is a good eater lately. She also has become quite fond of carrots and grapes as well. But will eat most anything.

Well, it is time for a scrub, scrub. and then off to dream time for me.!

Just real quick

Hey,

Things have been so busy! Our computer has been on the blink lately. I haven't had a chance to really sit down and type because of it. So I am going to really update and then, tomorrow while I am at work, maybe I can type more. This weekend has been so full. Big Daddy's surgery went well. He has a long road ahead of him, please keep him in your prayers.

Tal resigned on Sunday. This was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. Please pray for him as we seek the Lord's guidance on our next pathway.

We had a tremendous time with Tal's family today. We went to MawMaw and PawPaw's house, Tal's dad's parents. Thank you so much. We shut the party down after about eight hours. But we had a blast and it was great just to be ourselves. Emma just was so full of herself all day laughing and playing. She is going to spend tomorrow with them while Tal and I are at work. Pray that they can keep up with her!

Well, that is all for now, I have to get some sleep before we are off again tomorrow. Pray for traveling mercies for all of us. I have to go to Memphis and Tal to Sheridan and back to Benton to work. And may the Lord bless you in whatever you do as well!

Prayer for my grandfather

Hey, I have had a busy few days. I will update more later, but quickly. Tal and I had come to Memphis for me to work, and he was applying for a few jobs. We were getting ready to leave for Benton, when my mother called to let us know that my grandfather had fallen again. They were waiting for the ambulance and thought that he might have broken his other hip. For those of you who don't know, my mom's dad, Big Daddy, fell on June 15th of this year and had to have his right hip replaced after the fall. He was "graduating" from physical therapy today and was at home after receiving his last therapy. Mom was with him fortunately and the staff at the facility he lives at were very helpful. So, we have been with him at Germantown Methodist hospital all day, mostly in the ER. Tal was great and had Emma most of the day. She did come up for about an hour after we got him to his room later in the evening. So tomorrow, he will have surgery, please pray for him. Pray for his strength and healing. And for mom and my aunt as they are taking care of him mostly. Tal and I are staying tomorrow until my aunt arrives. My parents had prior engagements out of town and it was best for them to keep them since we could be here.

Thank you for all your prayers this week. Things have been looking up. Cannot wait to fill in the details. Love you all!
Mary
